With Dr Ferdinando Moglia and our mechanic Ciso, Intermed's staff began working with the "Bucarestii Noi" foundation which, thanks to Arianna Dina and Father Martin, cares for children with mental and physical disabilities.
With the support of Alessandra Scollato and Diana De Rossi, a psychologist and a pharmacist respectively, we developed a support project using the MAMI VOiCE system (essentially an incubator for adults that reproduces the vibrations of the mother's voice).
The Intermed delegation then travelled to Romania and, thanks to architect Bigogno and our own Santina Bianchini, installed a bed fitted with this system: it converts sounds into vibrations and helps therapists treat psychiatric conditions such as autism, depression and anxiety. Architect Bigogno was able to see the benefits of his project for himself, and the bed is now in full use at the Bucarestii Noi centre.
The contribution of the Salvo De Paoli pharmacy in Villanuova sul Clisi was essential in supplying medicines for these children, many of them orphaned or abandoned.
